About Us

The right atmosphere for good work

Before we talk about your project, you should know what we're about. Here's who we are, how we work, and what you can expect.

Experience that goes way back

We first learnt to build for the web to the screech of a dial-up modem. Those beige machines might be obsolete now, but what they taught us isn't.

About Meteoric Digital

Hi, I'm Reece Butler.

I'm a designer and developer based in Sydney, Australia. From Goldeneye scoreboards to Meteoric Digital, here's how I got here.

My first experience of building for the web was in high school. I learnt just enough HTML to build a simple, but functioning GeoCities site to track the results of Goldeneye tournaments I would play with my friends. It was clumsy and ugly, but it worked, backed up to a 3.5" floppy disc. That early tinkering stuck with me, even as I headed down a different path at first.

Having grown up drawing and making things, I went into traditional Graphic Design. The studio I worked for built websites for clients who needed them alongside their print work. I designed them, and occasionally dug into the code our developers sent back, tweaking things until they looked right. I taught myself as I went.

Eventually I started moving from design into development, picking up skills because I needed to solve real problems. Once I started working for myself, the requests shifted from "can you make this look good?" to "can you make this actually work?"

Now I build custom websites from scratch, handling both the design and the code. That range, from visual design to development, means I can see a project through from concept to launch without anything getting lost in translation.

These days, I run Meteoric Digital from my home in Sydney, Australia. I still get the same satisfaction from building things that work well and help businesses connect with their customers. Just with better tools than I had on the family computer back then.

Built from experience

Fifteen years of building websites, across 14 countries and multiple industries.

Meteoric Digital is a design and web development agency based in Sydney, Australia. For over 15 years, we've been building websites and digital products for not-for-profit organisations, sporting clubs, and small to medium-sized businesses.

While based in Australia, we've worked with companies all over the world. We have delivered projects across New Zealand, the UK, Germany, South Africa, Ethiopia, and the US. We bring that breadth of experience to every project, regardless of size or industry.

Our approach is straightforward. We will work to understand your problem, come up with a clear solution, and build it to impress your customers. The result is honest work that serves your customers and supports your business.

Our values

The principles that guide how we work with every client.

We sweat the small stuff in both design and code. The result is a site that feels polished and works seamlessly.
Pragmatism
Straightforward solutions that work. We focus on what's effective, not what's trendy or technically interesting.
Transparency
We believe in being straight with you. You'll get realistic timelines, clear constraints, and no sugar-coating about what's possible.
Consistency
Whether it's a small site or a large project, we apply the same level of care. No job is too small to matter.
